Hit & Run villagers back authors account of SAS raids

From Morning Report, 7:36 am on 29 March 2017

The Prime Minister has effectively ruled out an inquiry into war crimes allegations contained in the book Hit and Run but he's been asked to think again.

Lawyer Deborah Manning is representing Afghans from the two villages that the books authors Jon Stephenson and Nicky Hager claim were raided by the New Zealand SAS in 2010.

She's been speaking with them since the Defence Force claimed that Stephenson and Hager had the location of the raids wrong.

Deborah Manning told Morning Report she will be writing to the ministers later today about the new information they say adds to the case for an inquiry.
