Another Wellington building damaged in November's 7.8 earthquake is to be demolished.
The decision follows demolition of a 10-storey office block in nearby Molesworth Street, the Reading Cinema complex car park building in Courtenay Place, and part of the Queensgate shopping mall in Lower Hutt.
The Defence Headquarters in Aitken Street, just 10 years old, is also set for demolition.
The 10-storey Revera House in Mulgrave Street, housed tenants including the Education Review Office, parts of the Defence Force, and the Walking Access Commission.
It was emptied after the Kaikōura earthquake while insurers weighed up their options.
Mark Crosswell, the General Manager of the Gunson Property Group, told Morning Report the building is "too expensive to repair."
