There have been thunder and lightning strikes across Auckland, Waikato and right down to the Central Plateau. Three houses at Manuakau Heads have been hit and there are reports of a DoC building catching fire in South Waikato.
MetService forecaster John Crouch says more lightning is expected to strike in Auckland, and people should beware.
