Central Otago town nears official dark sky status

The Central Otago town of Naseby is one step closer to becoming an official dark sky community. The title is given to areas showing "exceptional dedication to the preservation of the night sky''. The local government has given its support, and Maniototo local district councillor Stuart Duncan says the sky there is clearer than at Tekapo at times.
