Rising NZ road toll a worrying trend

From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 9 October 2017

The country's death toll on the roads is rising. Just this weekend, three people died on state highways in the North Island, and overnight in Southland three people died in a two-car crash on State Highway 6 north of Winton. It's taken the toll so far this year to 289 - 44 more than this time last year with three months yet to go. Also in south Auckland this morning a car has hit a tree, with three people trapped inside and in a serious condition. RNZ reporter Karen Brown looks at what can be done to reverse the trend.
