Vigils held for slain Maltese journalist Daphne Galizia

Two vigils have been held for the murdered Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who died in a car explosion on Monday. She led the investigation into her country's involvement in the Panama Papers scandal. Her son Matthew has slammed the country's so-called 'mafia state' and says the prime minister Joseph Muscat has allowed a 'culture of impunity' by filling his offices and those of the police with 'crooks and incompetents'. Amid accusations of government and police corruption, local journalist Herman Grech tells us that people on the streets, including government figures, are decrying the incident, which smacks of organised crime.
