Children fathered by Catholic priests seek recognition

From Morning Report, 8:17 am on 19 October 2017

Children fathered by a Catholic priest in New Zealand have revealed their story to an international support group. They're among the more than 13,000 people worldwide who've been in touch with the website Coping International. The founder of the website, Vincent Doyle's own father, was a priest. He expects many more adult children to come forward as they gain courage. Mr Doyle told RNZ reporter Phil Pennington the adult children gave him permission to speak about some details of their case, though most remain confidential. He expects them to get in touch with the bishop in their local diocese soon, seeking recognition and validation.
