Mining industry 'shocked' at govt ending conservation land use

The mining industry says it is shocked at plans to block new mining projects on conservation land. The new Government says New Zealand's scenic wilderness should not be dug up by bulldozers, but left in its natural state. But the mining industry says this rule has been sprung on it without debate, and its worries win some support from the National Party.
