Zimbabwe to begin impeachment against Mugabe

From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 21 November 2017

Zimbabwe's ruling Zanu PF party is set to begin impeachment proceedings against president Robert Mugabe. Mr Mugabe, who's been under house arrest since last Wednesday has been sacked as leader of the party and was given until late last night to step down as president. But that deadline came and went, without any word from the 93-year-old. In the latest few hours the Zanu PF party released its impeachment motion, saying there'd been no meaningful development in the country for 15 years. Harare correspondent Erin Conway-Smith says people on the streets of Harare are still celebrating.
