Surge in NZTA staff earning over $100k

From Morning Report, 7:55 am on 22 November 2017

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) says a change in the way it calculates salary increases is the reason for a surge in the number of employees earning more than $100,000 a year. Researcher Sam Warburton from the New Zealand Initiative says the number jumped by a third, from 418 to 555, in the 2015/16 financial year. NZTA says changes to salary calculations meant a sharp rise in the number crossing the $100,000 threshold. Mr Warburton joins us to explain.
