Waikato DHB member urges release of Murray expense report

From Morning Report, 8:19 am on 24 November 2017

Waikato DHB member Dave MacPherson is calling for the immediate release of a report into former chief executive Nigel Murray's exhorbitant expenses and travel. Mr Murray was appointed in 2014 - he was paid over $500,000 a year but also spent more than $200,000 on travel and expenses before his resignation last month. The district health board's chairman Bob Simcock is now facing numerous calls for his own resignation for his appointment of Mr Murray despite warnings, and for his failure to monitor his expenses. Craig Climo who was Mr Murray's predecessor as chief executive says Mr Murray was very much Mr Simcock's man.
