Ashburton fire 'totalled' factory, hospitalises three firefighters

Firefighters are now in control of a large fire that has "totalled" a stockfood factory in Ashburton that sent three firefighters to hospital. Two firefighters remain in hospital, while the other has been released, after embers from the fire burnt their skin. Two trucks, from Timaru and Christchurch, are monitoring the fire at Winslow, just south of Ashburton. Fire and Emergency area commander Stephen Greenyer tells us his workers were called out just before 8pm on Monday.
