Protests at Auckland train station for rail workers

From Morning Report, 7:09 am on 8 December 2017

Gridlock is expected on Auckland's roads as more than 30,000 rail commuters are forced to find alternative ways to get to work. Rail workers are striking for 24 hours and there are only a handful of extra buses to cope with the massive disruption. The strike is over a long running dispute between workers and the train operator Transdev over plans to have a single driver on trains. People are being urged to carpool, work from home or delay their travel. RNZ reporter Eva Corlett is in Papakura.
