Fuel shortages likely after Marsden Pt pipeline false alarm

From Morning Report, 7:16 am on 11 December 2017

Even though it was a false alarm, the shutdown of the Marsden Point pipeline could result in shortages at the petrol pump. The oil pipeline that runs from the Marsden Point oil refinery in Northland to Wiri in South Auckland was restarted last night after an alarm caused it to be shut down on Sunday morning. BP New Zealand says the outage is unlikely to impact ongoing fuel supplies, but any fuel shortages at service stations are expected to be intermittent and short-lived. BP's Managing Director Debi Boffa, who's also the spokesperson for the customers of Refining NZ, joins us with the details.
