Australia-China relations rocky after Prime Minister's comments

Australia's relationship with China has become more fraught after Chinese officials took issue with comments made by the Australian Prime Minister about Chinese influence in domestic politics across the Tasman. Introducing legislation which cracks down on foreign political donations last week, Malcolm Turnbull pointed to media reports about covert interference in Australian politics by the Chinese Communist Party. The comments drew criticisim from the Chinese government, but Mr Turnbull is standing by the claims.
