From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 19 December 2017

Passengers have been killed after a high speed Amtrak train derailed on a bridge near Seattle, sending carriages crashing on to a highway below. The derailment occurred on the first day that Amtrak trains began using a new track between the cities of Tacoma and Olympia in Washington state, the state's transportation department said. Spokesman for the Pierce County Sherriff's office Ed Troyer says it appears there are fatalities on the train but no details are available. US correspondent Priscilla Huff describes the scene.
