Winery apologises to iwi for carving track on Te Mata Peak

A Hawkes Bay winery has apologised to local iwi, Ngati Kahungunu, for carving a walking track on land believed to be of huge ancestral and historical importance. The iwi was so outraged to find the zig-zag track on Te Mata Peak last Friday that it provoked one iwi member to want to summon a curse on the landowners. Craggy Range Winery has since made contact with the iwi saying they had no idea it would cause such deeply-felt offense.
