Hotel, motel industry slates Airbnb's push against 'red tape'

Yesterday here on Morning Report we spoke to Airbnb about local councils moves to regulate the short term accomodation provided by its members. Queenstown Lakes Council is leading the charge by seeking to limit the extent to which property owners can rent out their properties using the online service. Airbnb's Brent Thomas told us New Zealanders are getting behind the service and don't want it bound up in red tape. But Hospitality NZ accommodation manager Rachael Shadbolt says the hotel and motel industry takes a different view.
