The revolving door in Washington has spun again, depositing the deputy director of the FBI on the pavement, less than two days shy of his retirement. In a blistering statement Andrew McCabe claimed he is being targeted because he is a crucial witness into whether President Donald Trump tried to obstruct the Russia investigation. A few hours ago President Trump tweeted: "Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me. I don't believe he made memos except to help his own agenda, probably at a later date. Same with lying James Comey. Can we call them Fake Memos?" RNZ's correspondent in Washington Simon Marks says if Mr Trump fires Russia probe leader Robert Mueller, it will be the beginning of the end for his presidency.
