New gonorrhoea superbug reaches Australia
An infectious diseases expert says a new gonorrhoea superbug that's reached Australia will eventually hit New Zealand too. Australian health experts say two men there have been diagnosed with multi-drug resistant gonorrhoea. It follows a case in the United Kingdom involving a heterosexual man who has now been successfully treated. Auckland University associate professor of infectious diseases, Mark Thomas, says it's not a question of if but when New Zealand gets its first case. Dr Thomas talks to Susie Ferguson.
