Tamihere case secret witness revealed

The use of secret prison witnesses is under scrutiny after the identity of a jailhouse informant who gave evidence at David Tamihere's 1990 murder trial was revealed. Double murderer Roberto Conchie Harris - until now only known as Witness C - was convicted last year of eight counts of perjury after a successful private prosecution by the jailhouse lawyer Arthur Taylor. Harris was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison, various appeals mean that his name suppression has only been lifted now. RNZ reporter Sarah Robson has been looking into the case.
