Govt urged to allow Māori to change electoral roll at any time

From Morning Report, 8:23 am on 14 May 2018

The Electoral Commission is calling for a law change so Māori can choose which electoral roll they want to be on at any time. Around nineteen-thousand people tried to change electoral roll type last year, but weren't able to under the law. Māori voters can only switch between the general electoral roll and the Māori roll every five to six years, over a four-month period.
