Super rugby next step for women players

A women's super rugby competition is the next step in New Zealand Rugby's bid to make the women's game fully professional. Twenty eight women players were awarded contracts yesterday - the first time members of the Black Ferns 15 a side squad have been contracted by New Zealand rugby. The contracts are worth between $40 and $45 thousand each and the new semi-professional environment is seen as simply the beginning.
