MPI taking wood-worker to court over swamp kauri

From Morning Report, 6:42 am on 25 June 2018

An Auckland wood-worker says he's been unfairly targeted by the Ministry for Primary Industries for milling swamp kauri. Kerry Scott says the Ministry's prosecuting him after he applied on the wrong form for milling consent. Mr Scott acquired a couple of logs last July from house developers digging at Takanini in South Auckland. He says he cut the logs up to get them off the landlord's drive, and he told our Northland reporter Lois Williams he's now shocked to learn the Ministry's taking him to court.
