Collider tries to recreate the big bang

The Hadron Collider is a 29 kilometre loop buried under the border of Switzerland and France, and it aims to collide particles in a way that will mimic the creation of the Universe. A breakdown last year put the project on hold but scientists have just managed to create their first particle collision.
