Christmas Island shipwreck toll rises to thirty

The Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, has defended the time it took for authorities to respond to the fatal Christmas Island shipwreck on Wednesday. The death toll has risen to 30 overnight, after a man aged in his twenties and a boy about 10-years-old were found near the wreckage by divers.
