A lecturer at Victoria University's School of Maori Studies wants the Electoral Commission, to act on the results of an internet survey on the voting habits of Maori living in Australia; The Maori child advocacy trust Te Kahui Mana Ririki, is right behind the Maori Affairs Select Committee holding an inquiry into the status and wellbeing of Maori children; A majority Maori-led project has carried out successful field trials in northern Hawke's Bay, using technology to turn wood into charcoal for fuel; The re-elected head of Ngai Tahu, Mark Solomon, says one of the priorities on his agenda is the iwi's input in the re-build of Christchurch.
