The Maori child advocacy trust Te Kahui Mana Ririki, is putting great faith in a Maori Affairs Select Committee inquiry, which will examine the status and wellbeing of Maori children; A lecturer at Victoria University's School of Maori Studies, hopes the Electoral Commission will take close note of an internet survey on the voting habits of Maori living in Australia; A majority Maori-led project has successfully completed field trials near Wairoa, using technology to turn wood into charcoal for fuel; Mark Solomon who's just been re-elected to head Ngai Tahu for the next three years, says one of his top priorities is the iwi's input in the re-build of Christchurch.
