Advocates have cautious hopes of Hekia's double portfolio

Pacific community leaders and educators are giving a cautious welcome to Hekia Parata as the new Minister of Pacific Island Affairs. Their disappointment that a Pacific MP didn't get the job is tempered by hopes that Ms Parata's double duty as education minister will help to boost Pacific educational achievement.
