NZ's largest coal mine closed by mines inspectorate

One of New Zealand's largest underground coal mines has been forced to stop operations after three serious incidents this month. Spring Creek mine, near Greymouth, which employs about 230 people, was stopped following a visit by a Department of Labour mines inspector, who issued a prohibition notice.
