The Maori Tourism body wants 'Kia Ora' to become New Zealand's national greeting; An Auckland hapu says the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours could be looked after in the same way that Maori and the Crown will care for key city landmarks; A small Horowhenua iwi says it will be working with other tribes in the district on Whanau Ora contracts that will benefit the welfare of the whole Maori community; The Waiariki MP, Te Ururoa Flavell, says Maori should have been better consulted about a plan to set up a rubbish transfer station in Rotorua.
