Council lawyer says Waitangi chance to explain water rights

After disappearing beneath the radar in recent years, a reinvigorated Maori Council is again pursuing a role at the sharp end of Maori affairs. The council, now under the co-leadership of the former chair of the Waitangi Tribunal, the retired High Court judge Sir Eddie Durie, has led the legal challenge to the sale of shares in state-owned energy companies.
