An environmental scientist says New Zealand is driving its longfin eel population in to extinction - for the sake of exporting to countries that already have depleted stocks of the species; An iwi is laying claim to 70 per cent of Kaingaroa Forest in the Bay of Plenty; A member of a review panel evaluating the Te Ture Whenua Maori Land Act, says one of the biggest issues facing shareholders is multiple land ownership; A double hulled waka, Te Matau a Maui, is gracing the Wellington harbour as part of nationwide celebrations to mark the Maori new year, known as Matariki.
