The country's third largest iwi, Ngati Kahungunu, wants the government's Maori language strategy to invest in efforts to keep tribal dialects alive; A trustee for the Taranaki iwi, Ngati Maru, says it needs to draw the line over who is a descendant, to ensure the tribe isn't influenced by members of other iwi; The business division of Tainui has pulled out of plans to develop a 26-million dollar hotel and conference centre in Tauranga; Government reforms to the way universities are governed will lock in Maori representation.
