Space Monster
Facebook news feeds have been all a flutter this week as Whanganui’s alternative hub Space Monster announced its closure over social media. A favourite destination for both local and international acts, Space Monster put Whanganui back on the touring map, hosting the likes of Lawrence Arabia, Delaney Davidson and even Japan’s Guitar Wolf.  Yadana Saw speaks with Space Monster's Jack Mitchell-Anyon about his decision to close the venue and what this means for the provincial city’s alternative arts and music community.

Anatomy of a Song: Electric Wire Hustle's Golden Ladder
Anatomy of a Song is a radio series produced by RDU 98.5 FM in Christchurch, which explores the sounds and processes used to produce a recorded song, using classic tracks from well-known New Zealand musicians. Each episode sees Spanky Moore at a mixing desk with an artist to dissect the different elements of one of their tracks, and to get under the hood of what it is that makes that song special. This week it’s Electric Wire Hustle’s ‘Golden Ladder’.
