About Music 101

Music 101 with Kirsten Johnstone is broadcast on Radio New Zealand National every Saturday from 2pm until 5pm.

The programme is produced by Kirsten Johnstone, Emma Smith and Executive Producer Liisa McMillan (a.k.a. The Segue Sisters).

Music 101 focuses on the best musical happenings in Aotearoa, as well as covering music and events taking place in the rest of the world, from a New Zealand perspective.

Hear interviews with artists from across the contemporary music spectrum, as well as the people behind the scenes; insightful documentaries and features prepared by a wide range of music experts, as well as live sessions and concert recordings.

Music 101 is interested in hearing your suggestions of great music we should play, whether commercially released (or not!), live sessions or concerts we could record.

We are always on the lookout for interesting musicians and music insiders with a good story to tell, and we’re keen to let the people know about news and developments in the industry.

If you have news, stories or information that could be of interest, let us know!

Email music101@radionz.co.nz or get more contact information here.
