Anna Calvi at Laneway 2012

Anna Calvi was a highlight of the 2012 Laneway Festival, shredding her electric guitar on the small stage. Her powerful voice and the dramatic textures on her debut album made it one of the most intriguing and addictive releases of 2011. It all fell into place for Music 101 host Kirsten Johnstone when she discovered Calvi is a classically trained violinist who started playing aged six.
