Narasirato come from Oterama Village, home to a little under 150 people, in the Solomon Islands' remote southern Malaita province. Adorned in shells, limestone body paint and loin cloths fashioned from tree bark, Narasirato have charmed audiences with infectious grooves played entirely on panpipes, which are blown or struck with jandals. Emma Smith spoke with Jimmy Ho'asimarana before their Womad Taranaki performance.
