Hamish Kilgour's musical career began as drummer for "The Clean" in Dunedin during the late 70's and early 80's. Together with his brother David, he marked out the early ground for what was to become the "Flying Nun" sound. When The Clean folded in 1982, Hamish and David moved on the folkier sound of "The Great Unwashed", a year-long project with help from Peter Gutteridge - the original bass player for the Clean.

Hamish Kilgour looks back over his bands, and talks about his musical life in New York…
