Rising from the ashes of Native Base in 1992, Dam Native was formed by Danny Haimona in the politically-charged mould of Upper Hutt Posse. With wordplay that twisted English, Maori and Hip Hop vernacular, the group were staunch in their cultural identity and hailed their music as 'hori-fied' Hip Hop.
