A film's music soundtrack is one of those things that if done well, will go largely un-noticed, yet it's a vital aspect in conveying the emotional and dramatic intent of a movie. It is a highly specialised genre that comes with rules and restrictions, deadlines, pressure and specific requirements from directors and producers. Even so, film composition is often touted by musicians as a dream career, yet very few will ever make a living from it.
