The Practice Room

From Musical Chairs, 5:00 pm on 5 January 2008

There's one in every city, usually in a grimy, run-down warehouse on the outskirts of town, where there are no neighbours to complain about the 46th rendition of the same death-metal song, or the crates of empties stacking up outside the door… the great New Zealand practice room! There's competition between bands in the spaces, theft, and grime, but they're also the places where musos spend hours honing their craft and bonding.
