Womad 2014 Live: Arrested Development, Airileke

Pioneering hip hop crew Arrested Development from Atlanta, Georgia has weathered internal disputes and music industry machinations. The group broke up for five years, now they're back with a reinvigorated passion for their distinct brand of hip-hop and funk. Trevor Reekie talks to Word.

Also a live performance from Airileke, put together by Airileke Ingram, born in Papua New Guinea and these days based in Australia. Airileke feature traditional Melanesian drumming re-contextualized to help spread a message protesting the oppression of West Papua.
