Womad 2014 Live: Femi Kuti, La Chiva Gantiva

Band leader, saxophonist and vocalist Femi Kuti and his big band Positive Force pulled out all the musical and visual stops to deliver a show that delighted a capacity audience with an up-tempo and colourful set of Afrobeat virtuosity.

Also featured is La Chiva Gantiva, a multi-cultural band formed in Brussels by a collection of ex-pat Columbian musicians. La Chiva Gantiva's brand of high energy brass and percussion driven Latin rhythms provided ample explanation of why their sound has proven to be their passport to a wider audience.

The programme was produced and presented by Trevor Reekie, engineered by Jeremy Ansell, executive producer John Pilley for Radio NZ National.
