Belle and Sebastian made their debut New Zealand appearance at Auckland's Laneway 2015, nearly 20 years after forming in Glasgow.

Main vocalist and songwriter, Stuart Murdoch recently polished off his debut film- a musical- entitled 'God Help The Girl', which played at the NZ film festival last year.  He not only crowd-funded the project, but crowd-sourced the main character Eve, inviting members of the Belle and Sebastian fan club to audition for the role.

Emma Smith caught Stuart before their set, to talk about muses, and their new album, Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance.
