Thorburn, better known as R.A. the Rugged Man, is a bona fide yet largely unheralded rap legend, having made music with names like The Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan and Public Enemy’s Chuck D throughout his colourful two decade-plus career. In the country this week for shows in Wellington and Auckland, he presents a listening session of true school hip hop classics, with selections from MC Shan to Slick Rick.
