Steve Albini

From RNZ Music, 2:05 pm on 5 December 2015

Steve Albini cut his teeth in Illinois group Big Black, before forming Shellac in 1992.

In New Zealand for shows with Shellac, Emma Smith speaks with Steve Albini, the opinionated, guitar-holstered frontman of Shellac and recording engineer about the group's longevity, suspending taste in the studio, and how the internet has addressed many of this issues raised in his 1993 essay, 'The Problem With Music'.

Shellac wound up here unfathomably early on, as he explains during soundcheck at The King’s Arms in Auckland.
