It’s more than twenty years since Spoon released their debut album ‘Telephono’ but the time has been kind to the Austin band whose tight taut pop songs remain as catchy as ever without ever being predictable. Their new album ‘Hot Thoughts’ sees the band heading into more electronic territory under the guidance of producer extraordinaire Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips).

The band have more great songs than their modest commercial success deserves and they remain one of the most consistently well reviewed and regarded bands around. On the release of ‘Hot Thoughts’ long serving bass player Rob Pope got on the phone with Alex Behan to have a meander through their back catalogue.
