Born in Essex, but based in Germany, Gemma Ray is a songwriter, guitarist, singer, film composer and producer.

Her sound references a whole panorama of retro references making for a cinematic psychedelic sound that she has made her own.

She has released six studio albums on the Bronze Rat label and has collaborated with a number of artists including Sparks and Suicide's Alan Vega.

Recorded in RNZ Auckland studio, Gemma Ray is accompanied by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Gris-de-Lin and Andt Zammit on drums, and speaks to Trevor Reekie.
