VIDEO: Unknown Mortal Orchestra release new album and perform live for RNZ Music

From RNZ Music, 1:30 pm on 7 April 2018

To mark the release of Unknown Mortal Orchestra's brand new album Sex & FoodRuban and Kody Nielson perform three songs live at Auckland's Whammy bar, exclusively for RNZ Music.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra have just released their fourth album Sex & Food.

The album covers some fairly heavy subject matter, asking questions like, "What are we consuming?", "How is it affecting us?" and, "Why does everything feel so bad and weird sometimes?”; through a relatively upbeat sonic lense.

According to RNZ Music's Nick Boillinger: "Sex and Food feels like it could only have come out of America at this moment. It certainly doesn’t look away from the social ravages, yet it also finds traces of humanity, and wraps it all up in a complex musical imagination.

"When there’s music like this, there’s got to be some hope."
